Scott Utterback

Utterback has been named Kentucky Photographer of the Year three times by the Associated Press and Regional Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographer's Association. As Chief Photojournalist, he led his station to become the NPPA Station of the Year two years in a row. During his tenure at WAVE 3 in Louisville, KY he earned seven EMMY® Awards along with other national awards for his storytelling. He is a sought after talent to share his passion for the craft with others through workshops and seminars nationally.
He
started his career in Lexington, KY where he met
Clifton's Edge partner David
McArthur. He
left for Knoxville, TN in 1997 to become the Chief
Photojournalist at the CBS affiliate where he met
Clifton's Edge partner Anthony
Mirones.
Utterback departed for Louisville, KY taking Mirones
with him a year later. While in Louisville, the three
Clifton's Edge partners began their plans to become
Clifton's Edge.
Utterback most recently joined the Courier-Journal, Louisville's daily newspaper, as a multimedia specialist where he produces the paper's online addition's of high school sports and college sports weekly programs. He is the first newspaper journalist in Kentucky to win awards in television and newspaper categories in the Kentucky News Photographer's Association year end competition.
Utterback gives back to the profession as a faculty member of the NPPA Workshop at the University of Oklahoma, Norman Campus, and is the President of the KNPA. He also leads workshops and seminars nationwide mentoring other professionals to become better storytellers.
